New Sunday Dress

We were just thinking the other day that we needed to get Kaylee some new dresses (she wore a 9 month dress to church the other week). Thank goodness for Kaylee's Gramma Wurtz! She came to the rescue and bought a new dress. We took a bunch of pics of her sporting it!

Daddy was goofing off in the background to try and get her to smile. It worked!

We just love that smile!

Our next door neighbor, Veronica, just loves coming over and playing with Kaylee. She had a ball playing with Veronica's hat...

Happy Birthday Holly!

Happy Birthday to Holly! Holly's birthday was on Wed. last week. It started off like normal, feeding Kaylee breakfast. But Kaylee decided that she wanted to use the new spoon that Grandpops and Meme gave her all by herself.

So far so good...

This is starting to get a little more interesting (and messy)...

By the end of her meal (of playing with her meal) she was quite proud of the mess she had made! The best part was that I didn't have to clean it up! Hehe...but Holly and Kaylee had fun and we got some cute pics out of it too!

Now I'd like to take credit for what we did next, but I have to confess it was all Holly's idea (mostly). She told me what she wanted to do for her birthday (I had no complaints). We went down to Shoreline Village in downtown Long Beach and had dinner. Then we rented a bike and rode it along the beach and took in some sights. It was a lot of fun and it reminded us of how long it had been since we had a night out just the two of us!

Pretty sunset...

Holly used to work in the tall building on the right.

We love Holly so very much!

Utah Trip

We took a trip to Utah Aug 5-9. Jared's Brother Deric came home from his mission in Adelaide, Australia. It was so awesome to see him! We're very proud of all the hard work he did and know that he'll do great as he gets back into school etc. Look out ladies!

Deric also got to meet Kaylee for the first time since she was born when he was out on his mission.

One of Jared's brothers (Justin) got married that week also (we love you Talia - welcome to the family!) and so it was quite a wonderful trip being with family and enjoying time together. Between all of the boys (5 of us) being on missions at different times, it had been quite a while since we had all been together. Good times!

Here is a picture of Deric with Kaylee.

A family photo? Yeah, I know it's been a while since we did one of those...

Kaylee looking cute outside on the SLC temple grounds.

We went out to eat at Costa Vida one night with Jared's Dad, his wife Mary Ann and all of the siblings and spouses. Hmm...let's see...between us all there were 13 (and 1/2 - Kaylee's going to have another cousin!) at dinner that night. Thanks for dinner dad!

The original Thomson clan

Of course Grand pops and Meme couldn't let an opportunity to give Kaylee a gift go by...here's Kaylee with her new doggy!

We also got to take a trip out to the Provo airport and watch Jared's brother Dustin take off in a helicopter as he was teaching a student. Here we all are before take off.

One day we took a drive up Provo Canyon. It brought back lots of great memories (the place where Jared proposed to Holly)! Isn't it beautiful?

But here was the most beautiful sight...Kaylee sleeping in the car on our drive!

Just Because

I bought Holly a new camera for her birthday and gave it to her early because we're going to Utah next week and I wanted to take it with us. So we've been playing around with it trying to learn how to use it. Here are a bunch of random pictures - and of course we got some of Kaylee too.

Poor little purple flower! He's certainly seen better days...

Kaylee Videos (and Pictures)!

So we finally got some pics and videos off of G&Gs camera to put on our blog. We're glad that we did! It's amazing how fast our little princess is growing up. The other day she decided that she'd like to see the view of the family room from on top of the coffee table! That's right - she climbed all the way up on top of the table and stood up! They really do keep you on your toes, don't they. Enjoy some pics of Kaylee!

Can someone say "cheese"?!

Haha little doggy! They're all mine!

We were trying to get a good pic of Kaylee and her shiny black shoes. This is the pose that she gave us...

We had tons of fun with Kaylee yesterday and we thought that she looked extra cute so we wanted to get her on video. She was quite hyper yesterday too. She had a blast showing off for the camera!

Now this video wasn't meant to be shot; Holly just happened to turn the camera on, hoping to get some more cute videos of Kaylee. This is what happened as soon as she turned on the camera...

Legal note: No children were harmed in the production of this video.
Side note: Mommy didn't think that the video was nearly as funny as did the Daddy. She didn't think that it was blog worthy either. Feel free to form your own opinion...

And here is a fun pool video from the other day.

Little Piggies!

Holly took Kaylee to a doctors check-up the other day. Kaylee's gone from being in the 75th percentile in weight (back when she was like 3 months old) to the 25th percentile. She weighs 21 lbs now. I'm sure that she just burns it all off because she eats really well, but is just a busy body little girl. She's always running around the house getting into something!

We're so excited that Kaylee's hair is finally long enough to have piggies! I remember the days when she was just about bald and now our little girl's sporting two cute little pig tails (sniff, sniff - she's growing up!). As long as she doesn't know that they're there, she'll leave them in. But as soon as she sees them in the mirror, out they come.

Proud American Flag!

Here's Kaylee and her cousin Tyler on the 4th. Tyler's REALLY enjoying the party!

Kaylee's usually just a happy little girl! We love her tons!

Kaylee and Tyler had on matching outfits the other day and so of course we had to get some pictures. Not quite sure what Kaylee's thinking here ("Hey, maybe I could rip his little ear right off his head?" (and then put it right back on, of course)). I'm sure that they'll love growing up together! We love you little Tyler! Good luck Kelly & Pat getting some sleep this week!

And here's just a cute little video of Kaylee playing with the doggy!
