A Good Laugh

We had a very hard time sorting through our vast collection of Kaylee pictures. They're just all so cute! Holly finally got a good video of Kaylee laughing this week - we've been waiting for this for quite a while now. Every other time that we tried to get it on video, she would stop laughing as soon as she saw the camera and would stare at it instead. She's not talking as much these days either - she prefers looking around curiously at everything, taking it all in. At least we know that she has a curious mind!

Here is Kaylee and her Grandma reading a story before bed time. (Notice the cute teddy and blanky!)

Here is a Kaylee right before her first luau (Jan puts one on every summer). We were a little disappointed that the picture was blurry!

Summer Fun

Kaylee turned 4 months old last weekend. Boy how time flies! Well she's already been to the beach 3 times now - I guess we have a real California girl now!

Grandma decided to get Kaylee a new outfit for church. It was for Holly's birthday (which is tomorrow!).

Bounce bounce bounce! She loves her bouncer because she's able to stand up by herself and look around at everything. It makes her feel like a big girl!

She's discovered that she has a tongue. She just loves holding on to it and feeling it move as she talks (she's become quite the talker too).

Cute Baby!

Smile!

First off, we are very happy to report that last week's post was not a fluke! Kaylee has continued sleeping through the night, only waking up once to eat. Needless to say we are all very happy!

A couple of weeks ago we took Kaylee to JCPenney to have her 3 month pictures taken. Here are some of the many pictures that were taken. Enjoy!

Sleep!!!!

So the original plan for today's blog was to BEG for all you professional moms out there to give us some much needed advice on getting Kaylee to sleep at night. She has been waking up every 3 hours until 3:30 am and then every hour after that until 7:00 am. We were at our whit's end!

Last night she woke up at about 12:30am to eat, which is normal. Then she woke up around 3:30am and cried (also normal), but daddy decided to put earplugs in and just tough it out. I was so tired that I barely heard the crying and just went back to sleep. The next thing I knew, it was 5:00am and she was still sleeping! I was so excited that I had a hard time falling back asleep! How ironic! She slept until 6:45 am which officially means that she finally slept through the night! Whoo Hoo!. Needless to say, we were all very happy this morning and felt well rested (except for mommy - since she couldn't sleep very well due to her excitement). Hopefully this wasn't just a fluke - we'll see tonight. Pray for us!

Oh yeah - we contribute this success to Kaylee's new found love for her thumb, her pajamas (which apparently have some hidden magical sleeping powers) and a merciful Heavenly Father!

This was Kaylee's church outfit last week. So cute!

Trip to Utah

This last week Kaylee got to go on her first trip to Utah. She did so well on the airplane rides. She slept most of the way, which is pretty amazing considering her inability to sleep any other time. We got to go to Aunt Darcee and Uncle Jeremy's wedding and visit with other family members. You can tell from the pictures below that she really enjoyed the trip.

Kaylee gave Daddy quite the smile! She already has Daddy wrapped right around her little fingers!

Jared and I enjoyed taking a walk down memory lane as we visited BYU and showed Kaylee the campus.

Here are Darcee and Jeremy coming out of the Mt. Timpanogos temple. It was such a beautiful ceremony and we are so happy to have Jeremy in our family.

Grandpa and Grandma Thomson (Jared's Dad and his wife) finally got to meet Kaylee! Needless to say, she was a hit with them!

We went out to eat at Los Hermanos with Jason, Jami and Dustin. We sure do miss that place!

Uncle Justin just melts every time he sees Kaylee.

Jon got to meet Kaylee for the first time too.

Little Chubbies

Don't you just love the "Baby Fat" that babies have? Kaylee sure has rounded into form. We still can't believe that she was only 5 lbs 5 oz at birth! She made up for it, that's for sure. She has finally gone a few nights without a feeding, and so we are hoping that sleeping through the night (without waking up - or having to put her in the all might swing for sleep) is right around the corner. And maybe after that, less fussy nap times? That would be heavenly!

I'm sure that we'll be in trouble for posting this pic one day! Gotta love it though!

Generally, Kaylee enjoys tummy time.

She really loves standing up and being able to look around. She'll rapidly turn her head from side to side to make sure that she's not missing anything!

She love us, really. At least we hope so! :)

Here's a cute outfit that Grandma bought her.

Not sure what to say about this picture! Cute!

Ouch!

This week Kaylee had her 2 month doctor's appointment (she really was 2 months & 2 weeks old). She weighed 11 lbs. 12 oz. and was 22 in. long. This puts her in the 75th percentile for weight (up from the 10th percentile at birth) and the 50th percentile for height. She got her first four shots, which hurt all of us. Mommy chose to wait outside, but could still hear the screaming! Kaylee was not a happy camper. She still has a big red spot on her leg from one of the shots. We are not looking forward to the next round of shots.

Kaylee also has discovered her hands - or maybe it is just a reflex. She is obsessed with sucking on them.

This is the only way Mommy could keep those hands out of her mouth!

Auntie Kelly loves any opportunity that she gets to hold little Boopers...

And here she is having a little too much fun!

We went on a walk this evening and Kaylee seems to really enjoy discovering the outside world.

I love Daddy!
